Dance Marathon is a UNL organization that raises money each year for Children's Hospital & Medical Center in Omaha. Dancers register throughout the fall semester, and then send
in addresses of family and friends they like to ask to donate. Dance Marathon then
takes care of sending letters to those potential donors and handling any donations
received. The fundraising process goes on until late February, when we hold the
actual Dance Marathon event. The 12-hour celebration takes place in the Nebraska
Union on UNL's city campus, and is a night filled with entertainment including
bands, break dancers, and families helped by the Hospital sharing their experiences.
To date, Dance Marathon raised over $200,000.
Dance Marathon 2010 is scheduled for February 19 and 20. More details on time and
location will be posted in the near future. Registered dancers are reminded to pay
their registration fee and submit addresses if they have not done so already.
